Position Overview:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer – Manual Testing to support the quality and integrity of data-driven applications. This role focuses on ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of Microsoft SQL Server databases and works closely with cross-functional teams to support Agile development and data reporting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform backend testing by validating data stored in Microsoft SQL Server-based databases.
Write and execute SQL queries to verify data accuracy, support test scenarios, and troubleshoot issues.
Conduct manual testing of Power BI reports, ensuring data accuracy, layout consistency, and correct visualizations.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across databases, reports, and user-facing applications.
Support validation and preparation of federal ED Facts reporting data based on business and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document data validation rules and QA acceptance criteria.
Coordinate with onshore and offshore development teams to align QA activities and resolve issues.
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
Maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect logs.
Validate database updates, patches, and ensure no regression issues are introduced.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of test automation for repetitive and regression test scenarios.

Required Skill Set:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server with the ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
Hands-on experience in manual testing, particularly focused on data accuracy, backend validation, and end-to-end workflows.
Proficient in API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar; able to validate request/response structure, status codes, and payload data.
Experience in testing Power BI reports, validating data sources, visual accuracy, and report logic.
Must have experience using Azure DevOps or similar test/project management tools such as Jira for managing test cases, bugs, and sprint tracking.
Strong technical documentation and communication skills for writing test cases, test plans, and defect logs.
Exposure to test automation tools such as Selenium, Postman, or similar

Experience:

Minimum 3+ years of experience in Manual Testing
Minimum 1+ years of experience in Automation Testing
